Ki is 24 years old. He has Autism. Ki has had two lifelong passions: motorcycles and fishing. Ki loves fishing to help manage anxiety and feel connected to nature as many autistic adults do. Not only does it offer Ki a place to escape, it also allows him to feel the thrill of the catch.
Ki had been working as an apprentice bike mechanic. He recognised his skills for working intricately on engines and exploring what made them work was also transferable to fishing. More specifically to making baits.
Ki started work on making better baits for his local fishing spot. Knowing he needed to perfect the scent and appeal of the bait, make it colourful and visible to attract bigger carp, he set about trying to build something that would reel in bigger fish than he’d caught before.
It wasn’t long before people started noticing Ki reeling in bigger catches. When Ki told people what he had been doing, a few local fishing enthusiasts asked Ki to make them some baits to help them attract more fish.
Long story short, Ki started to help others reel in bigger fish as well! Ki started experimenting with different colours and presentations of bait and realised that by mixing things up, he could attract different fish.
